Members sustain OMZ through their commitment to practice, attendance, and contribution to the financial viability of the zendo. Members are also the only people who have a vote on decisions that affect the sangha, and membership is a prerequisite for taking the precepts (jukai). To be considered a member of OMZ, we ask that you maintain:

• An ongoing student-teacher relationship with Barry

• Regular participation, including frequent and sustained attendance, in person or remotely, at daily sittings and monthly sesshins

• A regular financial commitment to the zendo outside of any attendance at monthly sesshins. The suggested monthly donation for members is $50. That said, the regularity of your donation is more important than the amount, because a recurring donation both helps us budget and demonstrates your commitment to the sangha. Note that service in the roles and tasks that help keep the zendo running (e.g. serving on the OMZ board or helping out with maintenance of the physical zendo) is also welcome as a supplement or in lieu of financial donations.

Please donate if you can - it allows us to not worry about those who cannot. A monthly recurring donation of any amount is preferred as this helps us with budgeting. No one will be turned away.
