What does Zen have to say about leisure time? What we are usually taught in zen is a life of continuous practice. Which we can hear as a life continuous discipline. Even Hyakujo's maxim, "a day of no work is a day of no eating" can be misunderstood as punishment for not working. How can we see enjoyment and desire as part of taking our lives whole? How can we sensibly have unstructured leisure time?
