The student-teacher relationship at Ordinary Mind Zendo Barry Magid June 11th 2016

The teacher-student relationship has a particularly important position in Zen training. It's not of the kind where, if you practice long and hard enough you'll be like the teacher. What does it take be a Zen student? What does it take to be a student at Ordinary Mind Zendo? Typically people come with the idea that there are steps to take or barriers to cross. I'd much rather see if a person can tolerate the ambiguity of not being told what a student is. Can you make any use of the blank screen to see what you project onto it in terms of your own idealization and curative fantasy.
