Monthly Sesshin at Ordinary Mind are day-long zazen intensives. Interwoven with the periods of sitting are liturgy, a dharma talk, the opportunity for face to face teaching with Barry Magid, an Oryoki lunch, and a period of chanting. The day is particularly rich and provides an opportunity for students to push themselves a little in their Zen practice. As Eihei Dogen said, together let us open "the Dharma gate of joy and ease."
Please be aware that during this sesshin we will hold a memorial service for Marc Poirier, sangha member, friend, and teacher. At 1:30PM guests from outside the sesshin will join for the offering of incense and words of remembrance about Marc. It will go for as long as it needs to and afterwards we will resume sesshin with what time is left.
